> FACT 3: If you visit the St Lawrence Church, you can find the oldest circle of church bells in the world! They were cast in the 15th century and are locally known ad Wolsey’s bells as he would have heard the exact same bells chime all the way back in the 1500s.
> FACT 4: Charles Dickens was also a fan of Ipswich. Visiting several times, he settled there to write The Pickwick Papers in 1836. > FACT 7: Eliza Acton, famed for her invention of the modern genre of cookery writing, was born and raised in Ipswich. > FACT 8: Thomas Gainsborough, a renowned portrait artist was born in the nearby town of Sudbury.
