Art Scholarship to Harrow
Published by Aldro on Friday 4th of April 2025
As part of our series showcasing our pupils awarded scholarships to senior schools, we'd like to celebrate our pupil Glenn, who has been awarded an Art scholarship to Harrow.
Head of Art Mrs Fenwick said: "From the moment Glenn arrived at Aldro, it was clear to all his teachers and classmates that art is one of his consuming passions. His drawing skills first presented themselves in fantastically detailed sports cars. When he won the Aldro Celebration of Art with a reimagining of Van Gogh's Starry Night, it became clear that his imagination and his unique creative voice match his talent. I am delighted that Harrow has recognised Glenn's potential and his talent, awarding him an Art Scholarship. The award is richly deserved, and I anticipate great things from this talented young man. Well done Glenn!"
Harrow School said: "An absolutely superb Art Scholarship portfolio which demonstrated exceptional levels of drawing and painting ability, as well as being imbued with a high level of sophistication. Glenn’s drawing skills serve him incredibly well and I was particularly struck by the work based on the artist John Atkinson Grimshaw, where Glenn had endeavoured to capture the magic of the gloaming portrayed in Atkinson Grimshaw’s work. Glenn’s sketchbook was fluent and composed of elements that would not look out of place with a high-level GCSE Art submission. I am really looking forward to seeing Glenn in the Art Department at Harrow and he has my thorough and wholehearted recommendation as an Art Scholar."
Well done Glenn!
