Abbot's Hill Pupil Highly Commended In National Creative Writing Competition

Published by Abbot's Hill School on Wednesday 2nd of April 2025

As part of the Creative Writing Club, Eliza entered a national story writing competition called Time to Write 2025 and wrote a 750 word story called 'Home' on the theme of 'Light'. Set in the past, using the main Abbot's Hill house as inspiration, she wrote a stunningly descriptive piece about a privileged girl waiting for news of her family. She was awarded a top 10 'Highly Commended' which is a fantastic achievement. Her story is a labour of love and she is extending it into a full story. It was a truly national competition with an international flavour, with a pupil from Malmesbury School in Wiltshire winning Eliza’s category and a home-schooled pupil from Hong Kong winning the Years 10 and 11 category!

Well done Eliza!
