Culford Conversations Continue with Giles Yeo: a biologist from Cambridge University

Published by Culford School on Saturday 29th of March 2025

This inspiring lecture on Thursday 6 March was the second instalment of Culford Conversations at Cadogan Hall. We had the pleasure of welcoming the wonderful Giles Yeo, who spoke to us about his career in Science and how his school experiences helped shape it.

Giles Yeo MBE, an American-British biologist, is a Professor of Molecular Neuroendocrinology at the Medical Research Council Metabolic Diseases Unit and the scientific director of the Genomics and Transcriptomics Core at the University of Cambridge.

During the talk, Giles shared insights into his work as a TV and radio presenter in the field of Science, having presented several TV programmes, including BBC Horizon and BBC Two’s Trust Me, I’m a Doctor alongside Michael Mosley. He discussed how he applies the skills he learned in school to his career and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at his creative process.

The lecture concluded with a Q&A session, where pupils and parents had the opportunity to ask him questions and hear more about his experiences.

We are delighted to be welcoming .......... for our next Culford Conversation on the evening of ...... in Cadogan Hall from 16.00 to 17.00. To sign up to attend, please email prepschool@culford.co.uk.
