British Science Week

As part of British Science Week #BSW25 the Biology classroom has been creative. Our younger students have been actively engaged with the theme of ‘Adapt and Change,’ integrating STEAM into their learning. Demonstrating their understanding of adaptation, the students explored how trees respond to seasonal changes, shedding their leaves as they transition from summer to Winter. They created visually striking posters using natural pigments extracted from turmeric, beetroot, and spinach chlorophyll. The extraction process yielded vibrant colours: turmeric produced a rich yellow, beetroot a deep red, and spinach a vivid green.
