Enjoying our Annual STEAM Week at KES Prep

Pupils at King Edward VI Preparatory School are set to embark on an exciting journey of learning during their annual STEAM Week. Packed with a wide range of activities, the week aims to spark curiosity and ignite creativity across science, technology, engineering, art, and maths, following the British Science Week theme of 'changing and adapting'.

During STEAM Week, each year group will be exploring a different theme within 'changing and adapting'. From climate change to plant adaptation to recycling, the children will take part in a variety of hands-on experiences designed to inspire them in these key areas. Pupils will have visits from local STEM Ambassadors, design and make habitat boxes for our school grounds, take a 'trip' to the rainforest using our VR headsets, create podcasts and use AI to create fictitious plants. This fantastic week will be rounded off with a jobs fair for the children to learn more about possible careers that use science, technology, engineering, art and maths.

This exciting week reflects KES Prep’s dedication to offering diverse opportunities that make learning both enjoyable and engaging. The School believes in inspiring every child to discover and pursue their passions, and STEAM Week is the perfect example of how hands-on, interactive learning can spark a lifelong love of discovery.
