Long Service Awards Celebration

We are incredibly proud to recognise several staff members celebrated earlier this year for their long service and dedication to Barfield.
Recognising Sandra Pharo’s remarkable thirty-plus years of service at Barfield is an honour! Sandra joined in 1992, working as a Catering Assistant and, after 25 years, gaining a Level 3 Kitchen Supervisor Qualification. After achieving her NVQ Level 3 Qualification in 2019, Sandra later transitioned into nursery care to become a Nursery Assistant. Over her time at Barfield, she’s been seen as a mother figure and a fantastic team asset.

Jo King has been on the team for over twenty years! Jo started as a Teaching Assistant in 2003 before becoming a Nursery Assistant, Deputy Nursery Manager, and then Nursery Manager in 2018. Her dedication has helped the nursery become a pillar of the school. As of August 2024, Jo moved into a Nursery Key Person role, where her hard work and dedication to the Barfield Nursery will continue.

Wendy Gibling also celebrated over twenty years of service at Barfield! Wendy’s career at Barfield started with supporting Mr Taylor in the teaching of Pre-Prep Sports and Girl Games. Since then, she’s progressed into a Teaching Assistant role across various year groups. Wendy has been critical in the extracurricular activities at Barfield. The traditional Three Peaks camps, residential trips to the Brecon Beacons and ‘Toddler in the Woods’ activities have all become a huge success! Her passion for outdoor activities has helped inspire many of Barfield’s pupils.
