Published by The Leys School on Thursday 22nd of August 2024
On Thursday 22 August, the 2024 cohort of Year 11 pupils at The Leys received news of another outstanding set of GCSE results. 71% of all grades received were 9, 8 or 7, 48% were graded 9 or 8, and 27% were graded 9, the highest mark possible.
Top performing pupils included Sharon D, Archie N and Henry W, all three of whom obtained straight 9 grades. Congratulations go to Sharon D and Sofi P who were both amongst the very top performers nationally in their Art GCSE.
Headmaster at The Leys, Martin Priestley, commented: “Following our best ever A Level results last week, this is also very welcome news received today. These are excellent GCSE results from this cohort of Year 11 pupils at The Leys and I congratulate them all. The proportion of 9s is particularly impressive – significantly up on pre-Covid results, and up on last year’s also.
“My congratulations to the pupils who worked so hard for these examinations and my thanks to also the staff, both teaching and support, for their commitment in facilitating these very pleasing outcomes. I look forward to welcoming this cohort back in a few days’ time as they begin an exciting new chapter in the Sixth Form.”
