TPS IAPS Sailing Regatta

Published on isbi School News dated Monday 9th of July 2012

IN May, four members of the school sailing club went to the Olympic sailing venue in Weymouth to take part in the IAPS regatta. The day consisted of four races, two back to back in the morning and then two in the afternoon.

There were 44 IAPS school teams taking part so we were delighted with the pupils' success. Robin Stallard and William Doherty gained a medal coming third in the silver fleet and are pictured here receiving their medal from the Olympic hopeful Kate Macgregor. Quite an achievement as neither of the boys had ever raced before!

Edward White and Willow Oatley also gave a sterling performance and successfully completed all four races. It is a great achievement to be able to compete at this level considering we only started sailing last year. Well done to all four for the hard work they put in, including extra sailing sessions to learn the rules of racing!
