ESU Churchill Public Speaking Competion

Published by Farringtons School on Friday 10th of March 2023

It’s been a busy half term for Farringtons’ fabulous speakers! Once again our team have achieved great success in the ESU Churchill Public Speaking Competition. Kristian, Imogen and Ioana put on a fantastic show at the London Final, confidently and very competently taking on teams who had finished ahead of us last year. A big well done to all, and especially to Imogen whose beautifully structured speech on why the past was not better than the future had the audience in stitches and swiped the Best Speaker award from under the noses of other competitors. On the same day, two Y8 students Keira and Sanujana wowed the judges at the second round of the ESU Performing Shakespeare Competition. Keira’s sensitive but feisty Helena from A Midsummer Night’s Dream really demonstrates her adaptability as a performer and Sanu’s Hamlet was considered worthy of an honourable mention from the judges who really felt she’d gone the extra mile.  Good luck in your preparation for the regional final, ladies. Well done to all concerned and a special thank you to Mrs Vail and Mr Coulthard for your wonderful support.
