Strathallan's Young Musicians Of The Year

Congratulations to Olwen H and Sophie D-P who have been named Strathallan's Young Musicians of the Year.
Taking first place in the Senior Class, Olwen H sang ‘She used to be mine’ from the musical Waitress.
She said, “I couldn’t believe it when Mr McAuley said my name. It means so much to me. The song I chose means a lot to my family and it felt fantastic to get recognition for my voice.”
Sophie D-P, who sang ‘My House’ from Peter Pan, said she was over the moon to be named Prep School Young Musician of the Year.
She said, “I really wasn’t expecting it and it feels amazing. I chose ‘My House’ because its really beautiful. Winning last night has given me so much more confidence in my music.”
Mr McAuley, Director of Music at Strathallan said, “In only our second year, the Strathallan Young Musician of the Year showcase the wealth of musical talent in our school. We had 19 amazing finalists and for us music staff it really is a privilege working alongside our pupils day by day."
Strathallan’s Young Musician of the Year competition was adjudicated by Mr David Munn, Director of Music for Sistema Scotland and a regular teacher and coach for the Royal Conservatorie of Scotland Junior Department and the National Children’s Orchestra.
