Haberdashers' Monmouth School pupil, Megan A, Year 7, has emerged as the Welsh Under 13’s 800m champion in Cardiff! Surging past 20 competitors in the Under 13 category, Megan not only took the title but also shattered her personal best.
Haberdashers' Monmouth School pupil, Megan A, Year 7, has emerged as the Welsh Under 13’s 800m champion in Cardiff! Surging past 20 other competitors in the Under 13 category, Megan not only took the title but also shattered her personal best by a remarkable two and a half seconds, crossing the finish line in 2 minutes 40.3 seconds.
The race was nothing short of intense, with the top three runners crossing the finish line within a mere 0.6 seconds of each other.
But Megan's success doesn't stop there. She went on to secure a bronze medal in the 1500m event, achieving yet another personal best time of 5 minutes 31.4 seconds.
This outstanding performance reflects not only Megan's talent but also her determination and commitment to her training both at Newport Harriers and during her strength and conditioning sessions in school.
