ZsaZsi Mount, a talented Year 13 Economist, has clinched the second prize in the Haberdashers’ Futures – Schroders Economics Prize with her outstanding essay.
Sponsored by Schroders, a renowned global investment management company, the 2024 Economics Prize Essay competition was open to all AS year Economics and Business Studies students across the group of Haberdashers’ schools.
Participants were carefully selected from each school and their essays were scrutinized by a judging panel to determine the overall winner and runners-up. ZsaZsi’s remarkable essay tackled the question, ‘Is high inflation temporary or here to stay?’ in 1500 – 2000 words, focusing on current economic issues rather than the usual A Level syllabus.
The entries were evaluated by the Schroders’ Economics Team based on their ability to delve into the theory behind the headline. The prize announcements were made by Lucinda Napier, Portfolio Director at Cazenove Capital, a firm owned by Schroders.
ZsaZsi, along with other winners and their teachers, were honoured at a prestigious lunch and prize-giving ceremony held at Haberdashers’ Hall in London. They had the opportunity to network with guests from the finance industry and other distinguished members of the Haberdashers’ community.
All participants were commended for the quality of their essays and their dedication to the task. It was a moment of pride for the school to see ZsaZsi Mount's academic prowess recognised at such a high level.
