First Rehersal For Our School Musical 2024: Les Miserables

At 5 o’clock all the cast went into the Karslake for a delicious meal of steak and vegetable stew with a pudding of churros and a chocolate sauce. After we had all eaten our fill, we headed up to the Memorial Hall for the start of the rehearsal (5:30). As it was the first one and we had just about the whole cast there, Mrs H decided for us to sing through the whole show!
My favourite moment from the rehearsal was when we did the group numbers and made up some actions; there was a lot of waving of arms and stamping of feet. It was especially thrilling when miss got us to get out our phone lights and wave them like it was a rock concert. Some of the other highlights of the rehearsal were: Master of the House when everyone acted drunk; when we sang Fantine’s death because the sound was really moving; and the opening song because it got us into the excited mood that you only get when you hear the overture of a show! I enjoyed singing a couple of solo lines. I get to be a Constable as well as being a member of the ensemble.
I loved hearing people I’d never heard sing before blasting out all those great songs. When I found out my character I was really pleased as I wasn’t expecting to get in at all as I’m only in Year 7. I’m sure most other people were pleased too. The atmosphere at the rehearsal was overwhelmingly rousing; I think I’m going to be a bit nervous when we perform this on stage. It feels amazing to be in the WBS musical and I hope to be in more in the years to come. – Written by Mason, Year 7.
