GCSE Success For EHS

Published by Edgbaston High School for Girls on Friday 25th of August 2023

Edgbaston High School pupils are celebrating following the publication of an outstanding set of GCSE results.

62.3% of entries have been awarded at 9, 8, 7 (equivalent to A*/A). Notably, 34% of students achieved 10 or more grades at 9, 8 and 7. Results are higher than those achieved in 2019 and on a par with 2022, which is particularly impressive when considered against the national picture that has seen lower grades reported.

Headmistress Clare Macro commented: “I congratulate our pupils on this success. It is testament to their hard work and dedication, and to the steadfast support and guidance from teaching staff.

"The girls have fulfilled their academic ambitions in superb fashion, and they have done so alongside giving their full commitment to a diverse range of co-curricular pursuits whether that be music, sport, mentoring, Duke of Edinburgh, drama or volunteering.

“It is an exciting time for the girls, and they should be proud of their many accomplishments. I look forward to welcoming the vast majority back as Sixth Formers where I know they will continue to flourish as valued members of the EHS community.”
