Sailing Season

Yar
mi hearties!
The Y8s finished the sailing season in good style today. We were blessed with light winds in the morning which gradually built along with the excitement levels. The students had to work together and cooperate to keep the boat on an even keel (or not). Some students had to overcome anxieties around the menacing nature of Grimwith Reservoir, with is deep black water. Special mention to Phil. He thought sailing was going to be relaxing, but ended up in a boat where the crew were actively trying to sink / capsize the boat at every opportunity!
Over the season we have been really proud of the students, and it’s been a privilege to see how much they gain from the experience. We are so lucky to be able to offer such positive opportunities, thanks to all the staff who have helped to make this happen.
Thanks, David (Captain) Ben C (Bosun) Ben H (Cabin boy)
