GCSE Religious Studies Visit To ISKCON, Bhaktivedanta Manor

Published by Sir William Perkins's School on Friday 29th of September 2023

On Thursday 21st September 37 Year 11 students visit the Hare Krishna temple in Watford, the trip was organised to enhance students’ understanding of Hinduism as part of their GCSE studies.

The Bhaktivedanta Manor is a beautiful old house, set in extensive grounds in Watford and was donated to the International Society of Hare Krishna Consciousness by George Harrison in 1967.

The students had an enjoyable day, touring the grounds, with particular highlights being the delicious food, feeding the cows in the Cow Sanctuary and visiting the shrine where they were able to watch the arti ceremony.

Our GCSE religious studies students gained an understanding of the divergent Hindu traditions, and were given ample opportunities to explore a unique expression of this religion. Thank you to Mrs Arden for organising the the fun and informative visit.
