Dean House held an incredibly popular charity day on Friday 21st April, raising funds for our charity of the year, Chepstow Community Fridge - a valuable local project where volunteers distribute surplus food from supermarkets and local shops to those most in need. A magnificent £550 was raised by the end of the day.
The theme of the day was ‘Ice’ in support of Earth Day on Saturday 22nd April.
Children were encouraged to wear blue for a donation, and ice doughnuts were enjoyed throughout the school. However, the main event - and the activity that had pupils smashing their piggy banks with glee - was the ‘Teacher Ice Challenge’. For every £20 raised, one teacher faced the ice challenge and by first lesson enough had been raised to soak the whole of the staff!
The school community was out in force to watch scenes that can only be described as chilling...
