International Week of Languages 2023

Published by St Nicholas' School on Monday 2nd of October 2023

Last week we celebrated our International Week of Languages.

Our lunch times were very busy learning so many languages ranging from Gujarati, Arabic, Afrikaans, Japanese and Greek. We had fun with the French and Spanish pop songs karaoke, Mandarin name writing, Guacamole workshop, Pétanque on the field and everything culminating on our last day with French Madeleines baking and Sevillanas dancing.

Everybody had a great time dressing up on Friday and attending the exceptional assembly where we listened to our two Head Girls, Kirsten and Millie, performing in excellent French a mini-play untitled "L'accent grave" by French poet Jacques Prévert and were all mesmerized by the beautiful "Darbandi" Nepalese dance performed by Jenessa and Krisa in their wonderful and colourful traditional costumes.

Well done to everybody who took part and especially the pupils and teachers who organised the linguistic and cultural activities.
