Staff Win The Inaugural Oratory Prep School Open And Newman Cup

On Saturday 3rd June, members of our OPS community participated in our inaugural ‘The Oratory Prep School Open and Newman Cup’.

Twenty staff and parents pitted their wits against each other at The Springs Resort & Golf Club in Wallingford. It was a Ryder/Solheim Cup, four ball format with two OPS staff and two parents in each group competing for a point.

On a glorious day in the sunshine, the OPS staff put in an outstanding effort to win the main event of the day, the claret jug, by four points to one. Other prizes went to:

Mr Fairburn for the ‘Longest Drive’ (the only straight one of his round!)
Mr Fink for ‘Closest to the Pin’ and
Our Registrar, Mrs Thomas, for the ‘Lowest Score of the Day’, shooting an incredible 67!
A huge thank you to The Springs Resort & Golf Club for their hospitality and all of the staff and parents who turned out to support the event. It was a wonderful day and we look forward to hosting again in the future.
