AOBA 75th Anniversary Garden Party

Saturday 17th June was a fabulous day at Aldwickbury as we welcomed back to the school over 130 old boys and former staff for our AOBA 75th Anniversary Garden Party.

Guests heard speeches from Mr Peter Jeffery, Headmaster between 1979 and 2003 and Mr Vernon Hales, Headmaster between 2003 and 2021. With 42 years of Headship between they had many enjoyable moments they could look back on. They also heard from the current Headmaster Mr Paul Symes, one of our Year 8 boys and were treated to a performance by our Chamber Choir.

It was fantastic to see our alumni reconnecting with old friends and reminiscing about their time at the school over afternoon tea and browsing through the archives.

We were delighted to capture the spirit of the day with a photo of seven of the original Aldwickbury boys from 1948 with our current boys.

Following the event, we have been delighted to receive countless letters referring to the manners and maturity of our current boys. 75 years may have passed but the school retains its warmth, ethos and strong school values! Those present were also complimentary of the changes and widely recognised that the school must positively adapt to the changing world but keep Aldwickbury values at the heart of our decisions.
