Following the prosperous seven-year tenure of Harriet Connor-Earl, St. Mary’s School this month welcomes Miss Charlotte Owen as its new Headmistress. Miss Owen joins St. Mary’s from Woldingham School, having been Head of Lower School there since September 2016. Before joining Woldingham, Miss Owen was Head of Languages at Prior’s Field School. She has a degree in Italian and Spanish from Royal Holloway, University of London (BA Hons, QTS). Outside of school life, Miss Owen is a passionate travel photographer, and enjoys running, dancing, and the world of film.
Regarding her appointment, Miss Owen says: “I am delighted to have joined St Mary’s, Hampstead and I am excited to be part of the future of this quite remarkable school. The family-feel ethos and genuine care of each individual by staff is evident every day, and the school’s academic success has gone from strength to strength in recent years. St Mary’s inspires confidence, nurtures the individual, and helps to facilitate girls to not only secure places at top London secondary schools, but to leave us valuing the qualities of kindness, care and compassion. I very much look forward to getting to know everyone better within the community in the coming weeks.”
Recently celebrating its 150th anniversary, St. Mary’s School is an exceptional (ISI – November 2022) Catholic school for girls between 2-11 years old.
