A Level Results 2023

Published by St Gabriel's on Thursday 17th of August 2023

Once again, we are delighted with the results that have been awarded to our Year 13 pupils, results that have been achieved through lots of hard work, and that allow them to move on to the next stage of their education, whatever that might be.

As ever there has been media speculation about results this year, and the need to recalibrate A level grading – however, as ever these comments miss the point and the magnitude of what these grades represent. Year 13 pupils across the country have done extraordinarily well, particularly when one considers that as a cohort, they had not sat public exams until this summer. Education is about putting in place building blocks on a pathway forward; having worked so hard, this group of young people are now ready to embrace their futures.

Here at St Gabriel’s, we are particularly pleased for Head Girl, Oluchi, who has successfully gained her place to read medicine at Imperial College, London, and twins Holly and Alice Hake who between them have received 8 grade A*/A and are going on to read medicine and medical engineering respectively. However, congratulations should go to all of our Year 13 pupils, their parents and the St Gabriel’s staff too for all that has been achieved. Over 70% of all A levels were awarded at A*- B grade. It has been two big years, but ultimately, two big years that have led to a range of hugely successful outcomes.
