LVS Ascot has once again emerged victorious at the ISA Drama Competition, solidifying its reputation as a powerhouse in the performing arts. With this remarkable achievement, the school proudly maintains a winning streak for the third consecutive year, showcasing its exceptional talent, dedication, and commitment to excellence in theatrical productions.
Jessica Clark, Head of Performing Arts said:
“In March, Year 9 and Year 12 students participated in the ISA Drama competition held at Luckley House School. Year 12 performed an extract from a contemporary play, Chaos, which looked at the chaos of our lives, and how people experience this in very different ways. Year 9 performed a devised piece called ‘My Version of Events’ which reflected on how different people remember stories in their own way, often to help them feel better about the event. The camaraderie on the day was wonderful to see, both year groups were so supportive of each other and it was great for the Year 9s to be learning from our Year 12, A-level students, and hopefully aspiring to go on to study drama like they have. Well done to everyone who took part, we are very proud of your hard work and achievements.”
The following feedback was given to our Year 12s after nationally winning Best Senior Production:
“This was an intriguing ensemble piece. The movement sequences were well worked out and the timing of the lines between the ‘broken up’ script was very well done and not easy to deliver. The yellow signifiers worked well for a piece that was steeped in symbolism. The series of short stories really did capture the feeling of chaos and the fact that we all have messy lives. Each person brought something to their performance that was real, giving this piece a fully rounded feeling. A good solid performance well executed in all aspects. Well done.”
