Nearly 30 years on from when the school first opened its doors to male students, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts is offering a free open day on 17 February 2023. This day is for all aspiring male identifying performers aged 10 to 16 years. Participants will experience an exhilarating day, replicating life as a student on either the dance or musical theatre pathway.
Taught by an all-male faculty, attendees will spend the day finding out about the courses on offer and will take part in classes that mirror the professional vocational training at the school. They will all have the opportunity to meet course directors and faculty members.
Stefan Anderson, Principal of Tring Park School for the Performing Arts for over 20 years, explains: ‘We have been welcoming male students to the school for almost 30 years, but sadly research shows there are still so few boys studying the performing arts compared with their female peers. To further support our campaign to bridge the gender gap and encourage more male identifying youngsters to follow their performing dreams, we are delighted to offer a free session for them to come and see what is on offer at the school. We have modelled the session on the existing training format so the attendees can get a real insight into what a day at Tring Park is like – the buzz and energy which runs through every part of the school, truly is unique.’
A day and boarding school for students aged 7 to 19, those that attend receive broad training in the performing arts with a variety of courses including dance, acting, commercial music and musical theatre, alongside a full, extensive academic curriculum. Alumni include Hamilton and Frozen the Musical star Joe Griffiths-Brown, West End and Broadway director/choreographer Drew McOnie and Hollywood actress Lily James.
The Boys’ Open Day will take place at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts. Booking is available online now.
