Royal Russell School Model United Nations - February 2012
Published on isbi School News dated Friday 2nd of March 2012
Nine Royal Russell pupils headed to Lady Eleanor Holles school for their fourth annual MUN conference in a weekend in February. Our pupils began very quickly in getting their resolutions supported in lobbying and five pupils managed to get their resolutions to approval panel that evening. After a interesting talk by Lord Hannay, the former UK ambassador to the United Nations, Charlotte, Kat and Maria all delivered impressive opening speeches to the General Assembly. On the Saturday all the delegates, representing Iraq, India and Syria managed to speak in their committees. Sadly the snow came that evening and we were not able to attend the final day at the conference. However, in spite of this Maria, who spoke so well in her committee managed to win a Highly Commended Delegate Award a fantastic achievement.
