Headmistress, Sophie Green, has been named as 2021 'Best Head of a Prep School' at the prestigious Tatler Schools Awards.

The winners were carefully selected from a panel curated through nominations from a variety of sources, including the schools and public votes, and the results were unveiled via an awards ceremony on the Tatler Schools Instagram channel. If you missed the big event, you can watch it again on their channel @tatlerschools. A huge thank you to all who voted for our very own Headmistress!

Sophie was nominated for the second year running and Godstowe is proud to feature once again in the Tatler Schools Guide as one of the top Prep Schools in the UK. Read Tatler's latest review of Godstowe below.

Sophie commented "It really is an exciting and humbling surprise to receive this award. Especially after such an extraordinary last 12 months of Prep School life, with all of the ups and downs of remote schooling as well as the absolute joys of reopening. The last twelve months have certainly been a rollercoaster ride, but what has remained constant is the energy, determination, and spirit of Godstowe. The whole community has risen to the challenge and I am delighted to say that the happiness and energy of our pupils, the loyalty and support of our parents, and the amazing commitment, flexibility, skills, and talents of our whole staff team have remained firm and strong. Thank you to Tatler, and thank you to everyone at Godstowe."

There’s certainly something magical about this school, where girls thrive at lacrosse, partake in riding lessons and rock painting club, and fundraising through danceathons and brisk cross-country walks. Sport here is strong, and girls typically reach the IAPS National Finals in netball, swimming, and athletics, whilst the biennial lacrosse tour to America and the annual ski trips are keenly anticipated. Drama, music and art flourish and a popular event is the annual Art Exhibition and Fashion Show. “They find their own strengths and foster a love of learning”, asserts one parent, who is particularly keen on the Head. “Very approachable. A solid pair of hands."
