Bishop's Stortford College Festival of Literature was launched this year with a Harry Potter Book Night for Prep School. Coinciding with Harry Potter Book Nights across the globe, pupils arrived in the in the Prep School Hall dressed the part for a night of wizarding. The Hall had been transformed into Hogwarts Hall, with thanks from Mrs Moon and Mrs Poulter. Each corner of the Hall was dedicated to one of the Hogwarts Houses. There was a Potions Shop, where pupils created spellbinding bubbling, purple liquids they stirred in a cauldron under the instruction of the potions mistress! There was also a Diagon Alley and even a Dementor lurking. Everyone enjoyed game of Quidditch too. After the pupils had been put into Houses by the sorting hat, they competed in challenges including a wizarding worksheet and a potions quiz – Ravenclaw won by a narrow margin. Mrs Pike, Festival Co-Ordinator and Prep School Librarian extends her ‘thanks to everyone who helped to make it such a brilliant night’.
