Hi, my name is Sudarat (Tammy) Lowsoponkul and I’m from Thailand. I’ve been studying in New Zealand for nearly two years. I chose to come to New Zealand because of its good education system and friendly people. I wanted to go to a big school and ACG Strathallan seemed perfect. In the next two years my sister will come here, too. ACG Strathallan offers a great education and has supportive and professional teachers. Studying in New Zealand is quite different from studying in Thailand. There are some subjects available to students here that we don’t really have in Thailand like photography and business studies. Also, when I first came here I couldn’t speak English at all and I did not understand anything. However it has gradually improved thanks to the school environment and support. I also get to practise my English with my New Zealand friends and homestay family. My homestay is really nice and sometimes we do trips away with them to explore New Zealand. They also visited Thailand and my parents took care of them while they were there. ACG Strathallan offers a variety of extracurricular activities. This year I’m taking part in the Belle of the Ball fashion show where I get to model outfits created by local designers. I am also passionate about photography and it’s currently one of my favourite subjects. After I finish school I would like go to university in England to do business or computing.
