We were delighted to welcome Netball Champion Pamela Cookey* to open the new Kent College Sports Hall and to join us for a day of celebration by hosting a variety of netball workshops and coaching opportunities. The day started with a whole school assembly from the PE department who introduced her ahead of officially opening the Sports Hall with the cutting of a ribbon between the current and new Sports Hall. This state-of-the-art facility will bring even more sporting glory to KC by providing more opportunities for play and training. Pamela then led a host of netball workshops and Q&A session with girls from both the Prep and Senior School before acting as referee for some fabulous lunchtime matches between KC Mums V KC Staff and KC Old Girls V KC Current Girls, cheered on excitedly by the girls. We were thrilled to welcome back recent leavers and to have the KC mums join us for this great day of celebration. *Pamela is currently captain of the hugely successful national netball team and fast approaching 100 caps. The shooter is a fantastic role model for young sport enthusiasts as her irrepressible enjoyment of the game is apparent due to the constant smile on her face. Since her debut in 2004, Pamela has been indispensable to the England squad and is rightly regarded as one of the finest goal attacks in the world. The 2010 Commonwealth Games saw England win a bronze medal
