On Wednesday 30 October, Oundle School Hockey Club welcomed Chloe Rogers, bronze medallist from the London 2012 Olympics for a training and Q & A session with junior and senior players.

With 164 international caps, 3 European Nations cup, 2 World cups, 4 Champions trophies, 2 Common Wealth games and 2 Olympic Games (Beijing and London) to her name, it was a real honour for Oundle to receive a visit from such a talented and experienced player.

Chloe spent the morning at Laxton Junior School with Year 6 girls and then had a Q & A lunch with Oundle's Sport Scholars, who were interested to find out about her training regime and experience of international competitions.

Afterwards, she gave a presentation to the U13s, who also had the opportunity to hold her Bronze medal, before going onto the astro for an hour's practical session. Chloe also met some of the School's top Fourth and Fifth Form hockey players at the end of the day for a workshop, taking them through drills and giving them useful advice and tips.

Head of Girls' Games, Leti Brighton commented, "Meeting professional athletes is a real eye-opener onto the demands but also rewards involved in national and international competition. It is also very inspiring for our pupils to be able to interact and work together with such role models. Chloe's visit was a very exciting event in our Juniors' hockey season."
