From Caroline Taylor

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Sherfield School.

When you visit our school website, you will find a wealth of information about our school's rich history, our dedicated staff, our outstanding educational programmes, and the diverse range of opportunities we offer to our students. From early years to sixth form, we are committed to providing an exceptional educational journey that prepares our students for a dynamic and ever-changing world.

At Sherfield School, we are more than just an educational institution. We are a vibrant, engaging, and inclusive community that prioritises the wellbeing of our students. Our holistic education actively celebrates the diversity of our student body and empowers our students to thrive academically, athletically, and creatively. Every decision we make is guided by our passion to put students first and foster their overall wellbeing and healthy development as individuals.

Sherfield is a school in which each child is valued in their own right. All children in the school are encouraged to develop their talents and realise their potential in the way that best meets their needs and personalities. The wellbeing of every child is at the heart of the school’s philosophy, for while we want them to develop a genuine love of learning, we also want them to be resilient, confident, and kind people who know how to form and sustain good relationships and make a positive contribution to society. Teachers know students very well, and visitors often comment on the laughter, good humour, and warmth that mark relationships between students and staff.

At Sherfield School, we understand the importance of the partnership between the school and parents. We value this relationship and work closely with parents based on their individual needs. Our parent association, Friends of Sherfield, further strengthens this partnership by addressing the needs of our parent community. Regular communication and feedback are the cornerstones of our relationship with the parent community.

Finally, we are in a unique position to be Education in Motion’s (EiM) first school in the UK. As such, we can draw on their extensive experience and knowledge and uphold their focus on excellence in each of their schools. The pillars on which EiM has built its schools—Students Come First, One Family of Schools, and Pioneering Spirit—are pillars Sherfield is happy to embrace.

I hope you find our website informative. If you would like more information, I invite you to visit us and experience for yourself the atmosphere that makes Sherfield a unique place to grow and learn.
