Special School Co-Educational 9 - 19 Years Day & Boarding (Full, Weekly)

At St Catherine’s we believe the integration of speech and language therapy in the curriculum offers the best learning environment for our children and young people. At St Catherine’s we offer specialist education, care, and therapy to young people aged 9 to 19 with speech, language and communication needs. Our highly qualified and experienced staff create a positive environment in which young people can reach their potential within our setting and beyond. Visit St Catherine’s and you will see for yourself that our young people are happy, hard-working and motivated to do their best despite the potential difficulties they face.

As a national charity our reach is broader than our school setting on the Isle of Wight. We work collaboratively with an ever increasing range of professionals and organisations to ensure that the needs of all young people with speech, language and communication needs are better understood and addressed.

We would welcome you to visit and the students would be more than willing to show you around and answer any questions you may have.

      School Reviews

      Ofsted 2024

Pupils enjoy being a part of this caring school community. They feel safe and secure here, knowing that they are supported by their teachers and other school staff.

      Ofsted 2024

As well as a broad academic curriculum, pupils benefit from a focus on wider goals such as communication skills and preparation for adult life. They are well prepared to take their next steps by the time they leave the school.

Staff identify and understand the critical areas for each student’s development and target these in a comprehensive and coordinated manner. This includes working in partnership with students’ families. One parent said: ‘My child has made remarkable progress in his learning since being at St...

      Former Student

St Catherine’s helped me after school to get me into agriculture college and set me up for working. I really liked my time in Trinity View as Siobhan and Tracy (care staff) helped me to budget and plan looking after myself. The speech therapy was great and my driving theory, even though it took 3...

We all enjoy school, because we all feel the same. Not forgetting we still are a little different...

I enjoy Computer, Literature and Information Technology classes and the Awards Development Accreditation Network (ASDAN).
