Word From The Head

Craigclowan is the only independent Preparatory school in Perth, located on a beautiful campus on the outskirts of the Fair City, perfectly placed to access the road network from all directions.
When you come to visit Craigclowan, you’ll see that our family atmosphere shines through. The children’s happiness is our foundation and everything else builds from here.
We are a strong and supportive community, underpinned by our school values of Respect, Integrity, Kindness, Adventure, Humility, Optimism and Resilience.
We want all of our children to find their niche and passion in life and we actively celebrate their achievements in many different ways. The children support each other and they love to see their peers’ successes as well as share their own achievements.
We offer an outstanding education to all of our children with the determination to give them the best start to their school career, preparing them for the next steps in their educational journey as they work their way through the school. We are able to do this as we are a small school and our whole focus is on our children aged 3 - 13.
Our staff are passionate about what they do and the children in their care and this shows in so many ways; they simply love teaching this age group and they are experts in their fields.
When it’s time for our children to move on to senior school, we have an outstanding track record of pupils securing a place at their first-choice senior school, whether that be boarding or day, north or south of the border, local or international. Our scholarship success rate is exemplary with 149 awards in the last 12 years. Scholarships awarded range from Top Academic to Sport, Music, All Rounder, Art and Drama.
Within the classroom, our curriculum is creative, varied and strong and focuses not only on the academic rigor but also promotes an ethos of pastoral inclusiveness with a sense of each individual achieving their full potential.
With small class sizes and an outstanding Support for Learning Department, we are able to stretch the gifted and talented, support the children in areas where they need a little extra and create an environment where all children can flourish.
Outside the classroom, we have a strong Games Department, including a former Olympian, and the children have an unparalleled programme of sport for this age group. Our extra-curricular programme means that the children are developing their talents outside of the classroom and have opportunities to try lots of different activities they may never have had access to before.
I very much hope that you will want to come and see us. I am honoured to lead Craigclowan and look forward to meeting you.
