Miss Louise Davidson

Dulwich Prep London is an exceptional preparatory school for boys with a co-educational Nursery. For over 135 years, the school has inspired generations of boys aged 3 to 13 (and Nursery-aged girls) to fulfil their dreams and aspirations. It is an honour to be the Head Master and to introduce you to this incredible school.

Our school values of Love, Courage, Gratitude, Humility, Justice, Self-Discipline, Service and Honesty are at the forefront of everything we do. Our Values Ethos sows the seeds of possibility in each child’s mind, heart and spirit and creates the right culture and conditions to allow these seeds to flourish and become realised.

Our values weave through the entire school, every year group and experience. The eight values are explicitly taught to deliver both a deepened sense of empathy and the drive to be future upstanders and changemakers in society. Our expectations are high; we want those attending Dulwich Prep London to become independent thinkers with a sense of justice who go on to be thoughtful citizens of the world, equipped with a strong moral compass and the ability to adapt to our rapidly changing environment.

These expectations enable each child to put empathy and compassion at the heart of their decision-making. They are the catalyst to your child’s success and resilience in whatever they turn their hand to while they are on their educational journey and beyond.

We seek to work in partnership with parents to embed our Values Ethos, first and foremost, as this underpins
the character skills and social and emotional development required in our fast-paced world.

Whilst we are most certainly a single school with a single shared purpose, for day-to-day matters, we break the school down into five Sections, each spanning two year groups. This way, we can tailor everything we do to the needs of our pupils and launch them onto the next stage of their journey, no matter what age they join us.
We believe that if values are embedded, excellence follows, and as a result, over the last three years (2020-2023), we have seen over 260 scholarships awarded and 95% of our leavers secure their first-choice senior school.

We want our pupils to leave us having experienced the very best in pastoral care, teaching and learning, having enjoyed the most dynamic and demanding academic and co-curricular programmes, and having made friends for life. Our greatest success will always be measured by the character of our pupils.

There is no substitute for seeing the school in action. We would be delighted to welcome you for a visit. To arrange a tour, please get in touch with our Admissions department.
